Create impact and meaning with

VISUAL COMMUNICATION

Our students develop problem solving, project management and interpersonal communication skills and graduate with skills in design theory, typography & layout, logo design & branding systems, packaging, motion graphics, photography and more. Graduates are future ready, agile designers, with the varied and flexible skill sets required by design and marketing/advertising agencies, and government departments right now – and into the future.

AGENCY

Situated in Building7, the University of Canberra’s heart of Design, our Design Agency is a conceptual endeavour to connect graphic design students with real world projects across the university campus and Canberra.

Grounded in a Work Integrated Learning framework, student designers are mentored to complete projects for real clients across a range of disciplines.

Academics and industry mentors guide students through pitching concepts, pricing, design agreements, the design process and delivering the project, to ensure clients get great value for their investment with successful outcomes.

venture studio

Venture Studio University of Canberra

Venture Studio is a business accelerator program for students in the creative industries, delivered through UC’s Professional Practice unit for third year students in the Faculty of Arts and Design.

Our pilot program in Semester 1 of 2021 produced 8 fresh business ventures from design and comms students, who were led through 12 intense weeks of business exploration and development, culminating in a market pop-up stall where they presented their ventures and products to students and staff on the UC campus.

FADx is the University of Canberra Faculty of Arts and Design Student Graduate Festival. Every November, graduating students from the University of Canberra’s Faculty of Arts and Design develop and display their works for the public. In 2021, FADX will be online. From November 1, you’ll find profiles of our students, and the work they’ve produced, on our FADX website. Join us as our students rejoice, reflect and make new connections in a virtual setting.
